We are recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant at our site in Bromborough.

The purpose of this job is to ensure the development kitchen runs smoothly by supporting the development team and following company policies and procedures to ensure best practices. As a support role to the new product development function, you will interact with various functions across the site and operations facility.

Your Main responsibilities will be:

Kitchen management

Maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe kitchen

5S management and document completion

Ensure the kitchen is stocked with packaging and correct ingredients

Conduct daily housekeeping, cleaning schedules and close downs

Support – Work with the NPD team to support the delivery of the following:

Making of concept and repeat samples for our customers on time, to the correct specification and to the highest of standards

Organising and recording accurate meat orders with the factory operations teams

Cooking validations

Organoleptic assessments and tasting panels

Sealing NPD samples in the factory

Accurate sample labelling to produce the best-in-class customer samples packed to the highest standards

Courier arrangement

Supporting customer site visits and meetings as requested

Must Haves

UK Driving licence

Be comfortable working within a kitchen environment, interacting across the meat packing operations

The role involves physical activity including lifting and carrying of samples (manual handling training will be provided)

Flexibility to potentially travel to customers or other Pilgrims UK sites if required

Have an ability to work unsupervised and manage a varied daily workload within agreed timelines

An interest in food & recipe development

Experience of working in a chilled food factory

Experience working with chilled meat products

Experience working in commercial and/or NPD kitchens
