Diss Farmer meeting

Last week BQP held the first of it’s farmer meetings at Diss rugby club. This was also a first for Eduardo Miotto the new “pig performance specialist” who is new to our business starting only two weeks ago. Over 65 farmers turned up from East Anglia.
The meeting kicked off with a hog roast which aided in getting the farmers to arrive on time.
followed by talks from Oliver Havers (Grower Farms Manager) and Mark Appleby (Operational Excellence Lead) Discussing past performance and where we aim to be heading. Then Micheal Putt (Lead Veterinary Surgeon) gave a talk on African Swine Fever and the importance of Bio Security on farm.
The evening was rounded up with a panel of the speakers and other representatives of BQP to field questions from the floor.
Many farmers once the evening finished stayed for a further hour to catch up with each other and have a chat to the BQP team.

The feedback from the farmers was very positive here a couple of highlights:

Meeting format was excellent. The management team showed a great deal of integrity and honesty in addressing the issues raised. It was refreshing that the change in management style is now starting to filter through“.

Really brilliant evening – Thank you Enjoyed the presentations, highlight was the question and answer session which could have been twice as long“.

A big thanks needs to go to Eleanor Jackson and Andrew Denny for all there hard work in pulling the meeting off and thank you to all who turned up.
